We teach Jnana Yog, the practices for stilling and purifying the mind. Not everyone is ready to undertake these practices in which case we happily provide guidance as to what to do next and where to start your journey from but we do reserve the right to gently refuse to teach if appropriate. Once you have applied, and we have met and feel that we do have something for you, we will teach you to hear and to listen, to look and to see, to reason and to understand and finally, to speak if absolutely necessary. Having mastered these skills, you will have the toolkit you will need in order to navigate the continent of your own Mind.
The practices we teach are not to be performed in reclusive hermitages but find immediate application in every day 21st century life. In fact modern day living is infinitely preferable for real progress in this Jnana Yog. You may find that you will learn something specific in a particular session and almost immediately, your own Life will present an opportunity to put your learning into practice! Our students often comment on the "spookiness" of how this begins to happen, more and more. After a very short time, almost every incident in daily life becomes an opportunity to apply deeper understanding and to develop one's personal practice and then Life truly starts to reveal its deeper purpose.
At any one time we do not have more than a handful of students who may be scattered all over the world and we do make extensive use of technology for example, Skype for video linking as well as other technologies. It is not our intention to have large numbers but those who do feel ready and who are capable will find a small but deeply commited and supportive community - maybe this is your tribe too?
We have an extensive (certainly in depth if not in physical breadth!) library including some of the most elusive and esoteric Vedic texts, many with English translations, and these are available to students. Some of these texts are no longer in print and some have never been in commercial print. We even have some which have only ever been handed from teacher to student directly, never to be sold or made generally available. Some texts came to us just when they were needed and others were painstakingly sought out in Ashram's in India or dusty bookshops in the back streets of Kolkata but each and every one is a treasure, once one has developed the eyes to see. All of India's ancient classic texts, images and poetry, whether Religious, Philosophical or Spiritual, have many layers of meaning and purpose and as part of the journey, we do use these to dig deeper into our own beings and minds. The discovery that the Ramayan is a personal A-Z for spiritual practice, that the Saagar Manthan story is in fact a Pranayama practice, that the Mahabharat is a process of mental purification for Jnana yoga practitioners bring into personal awareness, a richer appreciation of the sages and practitioners who have left these road maps for us to follow and awe and humility and gratitude begin to flow.
Feel free to browse the site but do be aware that a much of the content is accessible only after you have registered and many sections are available only to our students who have demonstrated their suitability to our satisfaction. The ancient Indian Seers who first charted the continents of the human body mind and spirit would often conceal or make obscure ideas and understandings which required considerable application and preparation in order to be assimilated , comprehended and then mastered and we respect this principle. This is essential for the safety and welfare of general or curious browsers.

Gherand Samhita:-
"The Veda's, Shastras and Puranas are like common courtesans, this practice is to be kept hidden like a lady of good family."
Hatha Yog Pradipika:
"Strive to keep these practices secret, as if they were a box of jewels. Like intercourse with a respectable woman, don't talk about them to anyone."
Today, that which passes as Yog is available to all, like a common courtesan - just for the taking. In times past, the aspirant for Yog needed to first exert a degree of personal effort before being deemed ready to receive guidance in Yog and the teachers knew that not everyone was capable of receiving what they had to give. Today, many persons start lessons and when the fad is over, when the novelty has worn off, stop their practices and move on to the next novelty. All that has been achieved is that the aspirant has wasted the most valuable time of the teacher; far better for the teacher not to have taught such a student at all. In some cases an unready student may be introduced to ideas and practices which are wholly inappropriate and confusing, practices which divert a student from a full and satisfying life. Such students discard their practices without realising the anticipated results and yet find themselves being unable to fully re-engage in a world of material activity, falling between the two stools.
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj's words define in beautiful and succinct terms the true purpose of all Yog discipline
There is the body and there is the Self. Between them is the mind, in which the Self is reflected as "I am". Because of the imperfections of the mind, its crudity and restlessness, lack of discernment and insight, it takes itself to be the body, not the Self. All that is needed is to purify the mind so that it can realize its identity with the Self. When the mind merges in the Self, the body presents no problems. It remains what it is, an instrument of cognition and action, the tool and the expression of the creative fire within. The ultimate value of the body is that it serves to discover the cosmic body, which is the universe in its entirety. As you realize yourself in manifestation, you keep on discovering that you are ever more than what you have imagined.

"Prana" is the ancient Sanskrit word for the Energy of Life, and where Prana flows, Life glows. MInd and Prana are inextricably linked and it is not possible for one to be stable and still and the other to be unstable and erratic. Every act that a person performs, every thought that passes through awareness, every feeling which a person experiences either consumes Prana (its what we call Prananegative) or it attracts Prana (Pranapositive). If each of these three can be performed in a Pranapositive manner, Prana flows to you and through you, health blooms and the mind becomes peaceful, serene and content. Pranapositive.com is the culmination, the bringing together of these three critical threads. We offer guidance on how to harvest Prana, how to conserve it and how to use it without depleting it. Once a student becomes acquainted with the flow of Prana, the mind will start its own journey to stillness.
Some of the bye-products of these practices include greatly improved Physical health, Mental clarity and agility, as well as steadily improving contentment and emotional steadiness.

If necessary we also provide guidance, helping our students to become personally empowered, to develop deep purpose and meaning for life. In doing so, we influence every person that they themselves come into contact with, colleagues, family and friends, and so we affect all of our Communities. We use the most ancient and powerful of Yoga techniques coupled with the latest discoveries and concepts in the area of Personal Empowerment to achieve rapid and permanent healing along with physical, emotional and spiritual development.
